    Cougar Eyes

Carol Lyon has always had a knack for pulling the simple from the complex. Whether "painterly" animal portraiture or assumption challenging landscapes, Carol's photographs pull the viewer in to a more intimate experience of the natural world.

Carol started her photography career in 2009 at the Capital of Texas Zoo as their staff photographer.

Primarily self-taught, she has won international awards including 1st Place in Animals and Wildlife

for The Pollux Awards shown in Buenos Aires, inclusion in The Animals Collection for the 5th Annual Exposure Awards shown at the Louvre in Paris,

Honorable Mention in Fine Art Book Proposal for the

Prix de la Photographie Paris PX3, winner of the

Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers

exhibited in Berlin, Germany, Finalist for One Eyeland's 2019

World's Top 10 Back & White Photographers, and  Winner of 2020's

JMC  Awards in Wildlife  and Pullox Awards in Nature

which will be shown in Barcelona in 2021.

    Whether domestic or exotic,

    tame or wild, Carol sees

    endless photographic possiblities

within the rich world of animals and

nature. She is delighted and privileged

to spend time with all creatures in a

    multitude of environments

    and it shows!
